LAPT Mexico to Continue Online

It’s been a few months since the PokerStars LAPT Mexico tournament started.  Back in December, 242 entrants paid the $2,500 to play in the tourny, only to have it halted by the gaming commission with 89 players still in the game.

At that time, PokerStars decided to play the tournament online until they got to the final table.  They would then bring all of the players remaining to another location to finish out the tournament live.  In hopes of making amends to the players, PokerStars added $50,000 to the prize pool.  That is what the final table participants would be playing for.

It came down to Americans Rory Cox and Helen Prager as the final two players.  Cox went into heads-up play with a commanding chip lead of nearly 5 to 1.  However, Prager played back and actually took the lead by the time players went to break for dinner.  It was a lead that would not last though.  In the end Cox was able to take down first place and the $15,000 that came with it.  For her second place finish, Prager took home $11,000.

After the unfortunate cancellation of the PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour Mexico event, PokerStars has decided that they will offer the 89 players that were still in the event a chance to finish the tournament.

While the details are still being worked out, it appears that PokerStars is attempting to nail down a fair start time for what they are calling a freeroll.  bitcoin roulette This freeroll will be available to all 89 of the players that were remaining at the cancellation of the tournament.  All players will begin the freeroll with the same chip count that they had at the close of the live event.

When play gets down to the final nine competitors, those players will be flown to Vina del Mar, the LAPT’s stop in Chili, where they will play a televised final table.  PokerStars will also try to make amends for the fiasco by adding more money to the pot.  Sarne Lightman, Director of Marketing for PokerStars Latin America made this statement:  “We know that many of the remaining players wanted the opportunity to finish this tournament and earn their shot at an LAPT title.  Although the tournament was suspended and the prize money distributed, PokerStars still wants to offer the players this extra opportunity.  PokerStars will also be adding $50,000 in prize money to the final table.”

Here’s the final table participants and their winnings:

9th – Victor Ramdin – $1,000

8th – Alex Brenes – $1,500

7th – Bolivar Polacios – $2,000

6th – Martha Herrera – $3,000

5th – Stephen Thompson – $4,000

4th – Leonardo Emperador – $5,000

3rd – Pavel Naydenov – $7,500

2nd – Helen Prager – $11,000

1st – Rory Cox – $15,000…

Coverage of 2009 togel hongkong Begins Next Week on ESPN

ESPN has officially announced the schedule for airing the World Series of Poker events that have been recorded over the past couple of months.  Beginning next Tuesday, July 28th, and continuing every Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. ET up until the Main Event’s final table in November, ESPN will be airing a selection of this year’s events.

The biggest, and somewhat most disappointing change in this year’s schedule is the lack of coverage of anything other than the Main Event.  The first event to be aired will be Event #2, the $40k, 40th Anniversary No-Limit Hold’em Tournament.  This two-hour episode will air on the 28th.  There are only two other events that will be aired before coverage of the Main Event begins.  The week following the $40k event, ESPN will show the togel hongkong Champions Invitational, which was only open to previous WSOP bracelet winners.  Then, the following week, the Ante Up for Africa charity tournament will be shown.  Each of these episodes will run for two hours and will begin at 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday nights.

Other events which have received coverage in the past will not air on television this year.  Most noticeably missing is the $50k H.O.R.S.E. Championship, which last year featured a drunken Scotty Nguyen, who embarrassed not only himself but other players.  Despite his antics, Nguyen went on to win one of the most prestigious bracelets awarded each year at the World Series.

Where ESPN is lacking in some events, they have more than made up for it in their Main Event coverage.  This year ESPN will air 24 hours of Main Event action.  Beginning on  August 18th, from 8 – 10 p.m. ET, through November 3rd, ESPN will air coverage from Day 1 to Day 8.  Then, on November 10th, the final table will air, beginning with a special one-hour preview show at 8 p.m. ET.  Final table coverage will air from 9 – 11 p.m., culminating in the new champion being crowned just hours after actually happening.

There is always a lot of anticipation for the final table, especially since last year when the final table was first delayed until November.  However, there has not been so much excitement over the final 9 players in years.  This is of course directly related to the fact that Phil Ivey is currently 7th in chips out of the remaining 9 players.  He will definitely have his work cut out for him if he has any chance of winning the event.  There is no doubt, though, that he will give it everything he possibly can to try to gain what would be an almost unimaginable win of the World Series of Poker Main Event.

If you have not been following the 2009 World Series of Poker, or just have a little catching up to do, you can check out the WSOP 2009 News Page at FTR so you will be prepared for what’s to come in November.

Double Down Strategy: Soft 18

Knowing when to double down is an important part of blackjack basic strategy and doing it correctly can help you take advantage of your good hands and make up for the losses on your bad hands. The strategy is different depending on what hand you have and what cards the dealer shows, though. Here is what to do if you have a soft 18 with your first two cards (ace, seven).

If you are dealt a soft 18, you should double down if the dealer shows a three through a six as an up card. If the dealer shows a two, seven or eight, you should stand. If the dealer shows anything else (9, 10, ace), you should hit.

When trying to understand why you would make these decisions, keep in mind that togel hongkong basic strategy takes into account that there are more cards with a value of 10 than any other value. Therefore, it is playing the odds to plan on the drawing a 10 and the dealer having a 10 in the hole.

The reason you should double down if the dealer shows a three through a six is that, assuming a 10 in the hole, the dealer is likely to have a 13-16, which are stiff hands. With those hands, the dealer is likely to bust. How likely? Well, let’s look at it one hand at a time.

If the dealer has a hard 13, only five cards (4, 5, 6, 7, 8 ) will help his hand, five cards (9, 10, J, Q, K) will bust him and three cards (ace, 2, 3) will leave him with another stiff hand (14-16). If the dealer has a hard 14, only five cards (3, 4, 5, 6, 7) will improve his hand, six cards (8, 9, 10, J, Q, K) will bust him and two cards (ace, 2) will leave him with another stiff hand (15-16). If the dealer has a hard 15, only five cards (2, 3, 4, 5, 6) will improve his hand, seven cards (7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K) will make him bust and one card (ace) will leave him with another stiff hand (16). Finally, if the dealer has a hard 16, only five cards (ace, 2, 3, 4, 5) will improve his hand, while eight cards (6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K) will bust him. Therefore, each of those hands has 8/13 odds that the dealer will either bust or draw another stiff hand, where he again has to draw against 8/13 odds.

The reason you hit if the dealer has a 9, 10 or ace is that you have to assume that the dealer has a good chance of having a 19-21. Each of those hands beats your hand of 18. You never hit a hard 18 because of the high likelihood of busting, but hitting a soft 18 is risk-free because you can’t bust.

If the dealer shows a seven or eight, there is a good chance that he has a hand that is lower than your hand of 18. If the dealer shows a seven, no hole card can give the dealer a hand that will beat your 18. Only an ace in the hole can tie you. If the dealer has a 10 (10, J, Q, K) in the hole then you beat his 17. Again, due to the high likelihood of a 10, it is best to stand pat with your 18. If the dealer shows an eight, only an ace in the hole can beat you and a 10 in the hole can tie you. Everything else gives him a lower hand. For that reason, it’s not worth hitting and possibly lowering the value of your hand.

If the dealer shows a two, you have to assume a high probability of him having a 12. If the dealer has a hard 12, he has to hit. Once he hits, only three cards (7, 8, 9) can beat your hand of 18, four cards (10, J, Q, K) will cause him to bust, and five cards cards (ace, 2, 3, 4, 5) that will give him a hand lower than yours. Because the odds are against the dealer beating your 18 but not great that he will bust, you don’t want to draw another card. It is best to stand in this situation.

Blackjack: Early surrender v. late surrender

Though the move should be done sparingly, in certain situations surrendering is a wise decision in the game of blackjack. Forfeiting half of your bet automatically is usually not the best option, but in certain circumstances, basic blackjack strategy says to cut your losses. It is important to keep separate the two types of surrender, though: early surrender and late surrender.

First of all, whether you’re playing at an online casino or at a brick and mortar casino, you need to know that not all blackjack tables offer surrender as an option. It is usually available because the house counts on players using the surrender option when they shouldn’t, which amounts to throwing money away. Sometimes you cannot surrender, though. When you can, the blackjack table is only going to offer one of the two types of surrender. Therefore, it’s important to know which type is allowed.

Some people think that with a late surrender, you can surrender late in the hand, like right before you get to that card that would bust you or right before the dealer draws his last card. That’s not the case. It’s really quite simple. If the blackjack table has an early surrender, you choose whether or not to surrender before the dealer checks his hole card. With a late surrender, you decide after he checks. Let’s put it into a scenario.

The dealer gives you your cards and then 파워볼사이트 deals himself a hole card and a ten card. If early surrender is allowed, you would then be asked if you want to surrender. If you do, it doesn’t matter what he has as a hole card. Even if it turns out he has a natural blackjack, you still only lose half of your bet. If the blackjack table has a late surrender, though, the dealer will check his hole card to see if he has a blackjack first. If he does, you lose. If he does not have a natural blackjack, he will then ask if you want to surrender.

For that reason, an early surrender is more beneficial to players. An early surrender allows players to save themselves from a natural blackjack whereas with a late surrender, the dealer checks for one first. For that reason, proper usage (according to basic strategy) of a late surrender only trims 0.08% off of the house edge. However, proper usage of early surrender reduces the house edge by 0.6%.

Ladbrokes Casino Review

Introduction to Ladbrokes Casino:

Ladbrokes is one of the oldest companies around having been established in the 1800s. It has come a long way since then, and has since actually been bought out by Gala, who run the largest chain of Bingo halls in the UK. They are now one of the biggest betting companies in terms of employees and retail shops in the UK and Ireland, and are certainly a good bet to place your money.

Ladbrokes casino runs under the Ladbrokes name, which is perhaps better known to casino players than Gala. The gaming is regulated and licensed in Gibraltar and are tightly audited. These results are well documented from 2008 and tell you exactly how fair the games are. The table games give a payout of over 98% which is one of the best payouts around. The slot games give just over 95% and poker games just over 97% payout. The slot games payout is a lot better than some other casinos who manage in the low 90% and the statistics would indicate that it is well worth checking them out.

Ladbrokes Casino Games:

There are around 500 different games you can play at 789bet Ladbrokes which is one of the biggest selections in the country. Most of these games are slots, but there are also progressive card games and a selection of arcade games as well. The slot games are suitably varied, and if you are fed up with playing the same old Marvel games at other casinos this will be a breath of fresh air. There are several amusing games such as Chavin It Large and Apocolypse Cow which shows a light hearted approach. There are some great bonus games in Tomb Raider, and the progressive games such as Lord of the Rings are very involving to play. Of course there are the regular casino games that you love such as roulette, poker and blackjack, but the variety of slots and progressives really make it stand out.

Ladbrokes Software:

Unlike many of its UK colleagues, Ladbrokers uses the Microgaming platform. They are underused in my opinion as their games are entertaining and original. The security for your banking details and personal details is very good. The design of the lobby and the general operation of the casino whether you download or play on the browser is very good quality. There are no bad points from what I can see.

Bonuses and Promotions:

Ladbrokes are offering several of the best bonuses around. The first bonus they are offering is a £500 bonus which is matched to 100% of your initial deposit. This is quite normal for casinos to entice new customers. They are also giving in addition a 200% bonus up to £400 just for downloading their software. If that wasn’t enough they are also giving £5 free for every member that signs up so you can get the chance to play for real money and no risk. This is by far the most generous set of bonuses around.

Customer Service and Support:

Ladbrokes give a complete customer service covering you 24 hours a day, at weekends and holidays. Whenever you want to get in touch with someone you can by telephone, by online chat, fax, email or letter. They have support in different languages and offer a very high quality service.
