Economy Car Rentals Renting on a Budget

Many people are quick to rent a car when they are going on vacation, or on an out of town business trip, and many of these people are unaware of the fact that they can save money on economy car rentals for their trip. These specials are not always posted in neon letters on the rental website and have a fancy box drawn around them pointing them out. However if you know where and how to look. Heck most times looking for the deals is half the fun to begin with.

First way of saving some green when finding economy car rentals is to sign up with the website and become a member, many companies offer discounts to their members, this will in effect save you money on that next rental. If you are planning on renting the car for just a weekend go ahead and rent it for the entire week, believe it or not this will save you some money in the end as you will be able to get the car at a discounted rate.

When you rent the car make sure that you don t run the mileage to the limit. again you will be better off financially if you save on mileage. Another economy car rentals trick is to rent the car in advance, this allows th rental company to effectively manage their fleet and therefore pass any savings along to you the customer. It also will save you money to rent during the week, many rental companies will charge extra for a rental on the weekend then they will during the week. So again it makes sense to rent the car on a Monday and to turn it in a week later as you will get a cheaper price.

If you are going to be staying in town and are just renting the car to drive a potential client around then you will be able to save on your rental charge as many of the charges associated to an out of town rental will not apply to your situation. Just make sure that your rental is in fact kept in the city limits. Many of the rental companies these days have installed GPS and can tell if the car is driven father than the grace distance that they give you when renting your car locally. Most rental companies do charge for excess mile usage so keep an eye on the odometer reading to make sure you haven’t gone over.

Now these are a few of the ways that you will be able to save money on economy car rentals, there are about a thousad other ways but that would involve an actual book and by the time you finished reading all about economy car rentals you would,nt need the car any way. So follow my advice and get ready to hit the road regardless of whether you are going across the city or across the country there are plenty of ways to save on economy car rentals.…

The Beautiful Blue Lagoon

The Blue Lagoon is geothermal spa and is one of the most visited attractions in Iceland. The steamy waters are part of a lava formation. The spa is located in a lava field in Grindavík on the Reykjanes Peninsula, southwestern Iceland. Bláa lónið is situated approximately 13 km (8 miles) from the Keflavík International Airport and 39 km (24 miles) from the capital city of Reykjavík. That is roughly a 20 minute drive from the airport and a 40 minute drive from Reykjavík. The Blue Lagoon spa and geothermal complex is clearly visible from any of the usual satellite imagery sources at coordinates (63.880, -22.449).

The warm waters are rich in minerals like silica and sulphur and bathing in the Blue Lagoon is reputed to help some people suffering from skin diseases such as psoriasis. The water temperature in the bathing and swimming area of the lagoon averages 37–39 °C (98–102 °F). The Blue Lagoon also operates a Research and Development facility to help find cures for other skin ailments using the mineral-rich water.

The lagoon is fed by the water output of the nearby geothermal power plant Svartsengi and is renewed every 2 days. Superheated water is vented from the ground near a lava flow and used to run turbines that generate electricity. After going through the turbines, the steam and hot water passes through a heat exchanger to provide heat for a municipal hot water heating system. Then the water is fed into the lagoon for recreational and medicinal users to bathe in.

Iceland has a strict code of hygiene and guests are required to shower without clothing in the communal shower area before and after bathing. It is claimed that in June 2007 the Blue Lagoon appeared green, bewildering both residents and tourists of Iceland.

The Blue Lagoon was used as the pit stop for the first leg of The Amazing Race 6. The Blue Lagoon was used for the thermal spa scenes in the filming of Hostel: Part II. It was also shown in the Incubus documentary Look Alive, when the band visited Iceland. It was also shown in fifth cycle of Britain’s Next Top Model which used as photoshoot location.…

Exciting Attractions to Visit Whilst in Orlando

With its year-round warm climate, world-class theme parks, superb shopping and unbeatable sense of fun and adventure, it is no wonder that Orlando in Florida remains one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.

Children and adults alike will fall in love with the many delights that Orlando has to offer and it often seems that just one holiday is not enough to take in everything. With so many things for the whole family to enjoy, it is wise to create an itinerary before you go. Without a plan, the sheer number of attractions can seem overwhelming and you may well miss out on some of the very special places listed below. If you’re planning on taking your family to Florida, compare prices on flights to Orlando online to get the best price.

Walt Disney World Resort

Orlando is of course home to Mickey Mouse and no holiday here is complete without paying a visit to Disney’s Magic Kingdom or indeed the other theme parks that make up the huge Disney World Resort. The Magic Kingdom is aptly named as it offers a truly magical experience, particularly for younger guests who are sure to be enchanted by the surroundings. The three other theme parks in the Disney Resort are Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Epcot in particular is vast in size, so set aside two days to take in everything there. Hollywood Studios is great for film fans, while Animal Kingdom features some of the world’s most spectacular natural enclosures for animals.

Universal Orlando Resort

While Disney is geared towards a younger audience, Universal Studios and its sister park, Islands of Adventure, offer a more grown-up experience. Universal Studios is film fan heaven, with all the rides and attractions based on popular films or television series. In addition to the rides, a number of spectacular shows such as the Beetlejuice Revue are performed regularly throughout the day. Islands of Adventure currently attracts even more visitors than Universal Studios, mainly due to the absolutely spectacular Wizarding World of Harry Potter. With a full recreation of both Hogwarts and the town of Hogsmeade, this is not to be missed.

SeaWorld

Owned by Universal, SeaWorld in Orlando is much more than just a wildlife park. The daily shows featuring many of SeaWorld’s residents, including whales and dolphins, are truly thrilling and the variety of different marine and freshwater species is astounding. In keeping with the marine theme, the spectacular theme park rides at SeaWorld have names such as Kraken and Manta.

Wet N Wild

For a fun day out at a great price, Wet N Wild on International Drive is hard to beat. While younger members of the family enjoy the thrills and spills of many of the park’s huge water slides, mum and dad can relax on a sun lounger, or float calmly on the Lazy River beneath the blazing sun.

Gatorland

Known as the alligator capital of the world, Gatorland offers something a bit different from the larger, better known attractions in Orlando. The natural swamp surroundings lend an air of authenticity to the place and give visitors the chance to see alligators in their proper habitat. In addition, Gatorland is home to crocodiles and various breeds of snakes and birds. The daily alligator feeding show is worth the admission price alone.

How to Explore the Caribbean

So you want to visit the Caribbean on your next holiday. That’s the general location narrowed down, but which island do you visit – and how do you make sure you leave enough time to enjoy all of the places on your must-see list?

Unless you’re backpacking your way around the Caribbean – and let’s face it, there are much worse places to rough it – you’ll be hard pushed to see and do everything you want to accomplish in a week. You could make a fair go of it but don’t forget, the Caribbean is all about taking it easy too – so why spend your days rushing around when you’re supposed to be on holiday?

One solution lies in Caribbean cruises – and it’s certainly a great way of seeing plenty of sights without exhausting yourself while you’re at it.

So, how do you explore the Caribbean on a cruise? It’s simple. Pick the itinerary and the route that suits you, check out the various tours on offer and make sure you’re familiar with the main sights you want to see. Then kick back and let the destinations come to you. The great thing about a cruise is that you can wake up to a new destination every single morning, and the operator will almost always organise a selection of tours – which is a great way of taking in the various highlights of each new location.

And when you’re back on board heading over to the next gorgeous destination on the list, you can enjoy the chance to relax and let your hair down. Cruise ships are incredibly varied and offer a fantastic range of things to see and do for all ages and preferences. Take Royal Caribbean’s Vision Of The Seas for instance. From soaking in a whirlpool to sunbathing up on deck, working up a sweat in the gym to rock-climbing, or watching the sun go down in the cocktail bar, there’s certainly never a dull moment.
